When Would You Need to Restore?
You’ll need to restore your wallet if you:
Get a new phone
Delete or reinstall the app
Reset or lose your current device
Restoring ensures you can regain access to your Bitcoin securely.
How to Restore Your Wallet
When you open the app and choose “Restore Wallet”, you’ll see two options:
1. Restore from Google Drive Backup
Sign in with the Google account you used for your backup.
If you encrypted the backup with a password, you’ll be asked to enter it to unlock the wallet.
Your wallet will be restored automatically.
⚠️ If you’ve forgotten your encryption password, there is no way to recover it or access that backup.
2. Restore with 12-Word Seed Phrase
Select “Restore from Seed Phrase.”
Carefully enter your 12 words in the correct order. The numbers will be randomised for securitymatch the words to the original number placement.
Once confirmed, your wallet will sync and be fully restored.
⚡️Tip: Type each word carefully and double-check spelling - even one incorrect letter will prevent recovery.
Important Notes
We cannot recover lost backups or forgotten seed phrases.
Your funds are only as secure as your backup - keep it private and safe.
If you’re unsure, use Google Drive backup with encryption for the best balance of security and convenience.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Backup not showing in Google Drive? Make sure you’re logged into the same Google account used during setup.
Error entering seed phrase? Confirm all words are spelled correctly and in the correct order.
No backup available? Unfortunately, without a valid backup, there’s no way to restore lost funds.
Next Steps
Now that your wallet is restored:
Verify your balances are correct
Test a small Lightning payment to confirm everything is working
Re-check your backup settings in case you need to update them
